Is that employer really licensed to sponsor you?

Search the official UK Home Office register of licensed visa sponsors. If an employer or agency isn't on this list, they cannot lawfully sponsor a work visa — no matter what they promise.

Type the name exactly as it appears on the employer's paperwork. Names on the register are the legal company name, which can differ from a trading or brand name. Care & health only is a best-guess filter based on the employer's name — it won't catch a care provider whose name doesn't say so, so clear it if you can't find someone.

How to use this — and what it does and doesn't tell you

This is a straight mirror of the UK Home Office “Register of licensed sponsors (workers)”, the official public list of every organisation currently licensed to sponsor workers on the Skilled Worker route — the category the Health and Care Worker visa sits under.

✅ What being on the list means

The organisation holds a valid sponsor licence, so it is allowed to sponsor a work visa. That's the single most important thing to check before you trust a sponsorship offer.

⚠️ What it does not mean

A licence is not a job offer, and it doesn't mean the employer has a vacancy or will sponsor you. The register also doesn't list which roles a sponsor recruits for — a licensed employer might only sponsor senior roles, not care assistants. Always confirm the specific job and visa with the employer directly.

🔎 Not found? Check the operator, not just the home name

A care home showing no result often still sponsors. The register lists the legal company that holds the licence — usually the parent operator or group that runs the home, not the name on the building. For example, a home called "Oulton Manor" is run by Anchor Hanover Group, and it's the operator that appears on the register. So if a home isn't found, search the company that owns or runs it (try just its distinctive word, or add the town). Only if the operator isn't listed either is the employer not currently licensed — treat any sponsorship promise then with great caution. New sponsors are added as the Home Office updates the register.
